Original genuine grains from my family. We don't change these grains and we keep them healthy for many, many years. The first time I saw this kefir was in 1986. We visited grandma and she fermented this kefir.  She drank this kefir every day; she also put the kefir on a towel and wiped her skin with it. My grains have never been dried or frozen.
Why do I never use dried grains?
Water kefir grains are composed of symbiotic living bacteria that need air, water, and nutrition.
When grains dry, bacteria dies which create grains covered in layers of dead bacteria.
If the dry grains are put in water, then in a couple minutes, the grains will look like normal grains.
However, these grains will not participate in fermentation.
Fermentation will occur because of sugar water and dry fruits and the unknown bacteria from air particles.
This will not be water kefir fermentation.
Even though it's easy for the stores to ship, it does not help your health.
Also, dried grains do not grow. If the grains do not grow, then they are dead.
Why do I not freeze my grains?
If the grains are frozen more of 3 days, then the bacteria dies.
Please try to understand that I send the packages as soon as I can:
it's the same day of purchase or next business day. Usually, the packages come to customers within 3 business days. However, I cannot control the speed of USPS or speed up the shipping process. I hope that you will receive the packages soon. However, there can be snow, flooding on the roads, or a major situation that can delay shipping time. For information, I want you to be aware that grains can be in shipping up to 10 days and still work... For grains to activate faster and feel better, please follow my special recipe for the first three batches.

I promise I will send the grains as they appear in the picture. And I always put the fragile stamp on a  package. But sometimes the packages during shipment process squeeze and buyers get smashed grains. It's not scary. I apologize for the inconvenience associated with the post office and I will give advice on what to do if your grains get crushed.
If you get smashed grains,
do not worry!
The grains got smashed, but the bacteria themselves are alive, follow the instructions, and after two batches you will receive whole grains.
For starters this is what you need:
Glass jar,
filtered or spring water, sugar,
Couple dry fruits or molasses
AND Genuine Water Kefir Grains.

The proportion for 1-gallon glass jar:
1 Gallon of filtered or spring water,
1 Cup of sugar,
2-4 teaspoons of raisins,
or 2-5 dry figs, or 2-5 dried apricots
( or any other dry fruits)
or 5-8 teaspoons of molasses
AND
1 cup of Genuine Water Kefir Grains.
The proportion for 1-quart  jar:
4 cups of water (filtered or spring water),
1/4 cup of sugar,
1-2 teaspoon of raisins, (or 1-2 dry figs)
or 2-4 teaspoons of molasses
1/4 cups of Genuine Water Kefir Grains
Proportion 1/2 quart jar
2 cups of filtered or spring water,
2 tablespoons (1/8 Cup) of sugar,
3 raisins, or 1 dry fig, or 1 dried apricot
( or any other dry fruit)
or 1/2 teaspoon molasses
2 tablespoons of Genuine Water Kefir Grains.
Water kefir tastes very similar to soda. It is a healthy way to satisfy your craving without all of the unhealthy ingredients of soda.
Water kefir grains create a carbonated Lacto-fermented beverage from sugar water, fruit juice, or coconut water.
