Description
This waffle iron is a product of the Manning, Bowman & Company, probably from the early/mid-1900’s to replace the heavier cast iron waffle makers. The information on the bottom reads, “"HOMELECTRIC"
"
Made By Manning-Bowman & Co.” and "Meriden, Connecticut."
Voltage range is shown as 110-126. Wattage is 600. Catalog # is J32. Serial # is 5-32. The metal base measures 10”; the round iron grill measures 7 1/8”. The lid has an embossed, nine-petaled image. The electric connection cord was lost.
The item has been well-used but has not been cleaned lately. It weighs approximately 4 pounds. It's a great conversation piece. I displayed it for years in an old "ice box" and was asked frequently about its history.
