    Description

Vintage Double Compartment Pocket or Derringer Powder Flask
This is a vintage 1840’s – 1850’s Double compartment pocket or Derringer size, powder flask with charger.  The two lower compartments have individual hinged lids, for holding lead balls and percussion caps.  The high relief design is that of oak leaves and stems, divided by a belt like chevron. The Flask body retains much of its original lacquer finish with the balance a dark untouched age patina. The spring and charger work as they should and there is one screw missing on the top ring. Overall the flask is in fine condition. The flask measures 4-1/2” high including the charge and is 1-7/8” wide at the widest point and 1-1/4” deep.
