    Description

For sale is ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ณ of an 1840s-1850s Batty Brothers "Peace" themed powder flask. From personal research, I believe I've narrowed it down to being an 1846 or 1848 but this design and variations of it were used as early as 1843 and as late as 1860, seeing their first use during the American Civil War.
Measuring roughly 7" tall by 4" wide and 1/2" at it's thickest, it was originally issued to Civil War Infantry, Artillery, and Dragoon squadrons alongside the 1841 Mississippi rifle. It's made of a tarnished, dented brass that's actually fairly pleasing to view once it catches white light.
What you see is what you get, I want to make it very obvious when I say, It would make a fantastic framed item used to establish and commence a conversation, or a great item to show off to your history loving friends and family, but it would ๐—ก๐—ข๐—ง work as a functional powder flask, drink holder, or anything your creative minds can venture to.
I should also include, I bought this item forever ago in this condition. I didn't tear a whole flask apart; I didn't flatten the center or curve the edges; I didn't polish, clean, or scrub this flask (it hasn't even seen water let alone harsher chemicals); I've babied it from day one and intend to sell it to a buyer that will do the same. Not even a toothbrush, toothpick, or harsh fingernail has seen the surface of this item; in my hands, at least.
Lastly, feel free to message me asking for more pictures, more information I may have forgotten to provide (or state information I provided that's incorrect), or even a random, promiscuous third option I can't venture to imagine or list an example of. I'm all ears and all answers (hopefully).
