    Description

    Sixteenth-plate ambrotype of an interesting-looking young man with tinted cheeks. Aside from the tiny size, what's unusual is the fact that he's wearing a shawl or blanket. While many men wore shawls, you don't often see them in early photographs.
    Acquired recently at a family's estate sale in Mass.
    Image condition: Good and sharp. A few tiny spots where the image has flaked off.
    Case: Full case (pretty sure it's paper, not leather) with spine and hook intact.
    Cute little package overall.
