Description
Regarding the case...The outside case measurements are just under 3 3/4" high, and 3" wide.
* The pillow is in firmly.
*
The case snaps shut nicely and firmly.
*
There is no perceptible wiggle in the hinges.
*
In fact, the only serious blemish to my untrained eye is the little piece missing along the edge beneath the picture of the woman, as seen in the photo.
*
You can see on the back cover, near the corners, the surfaces are slightly worn down. Clearly this case was carried often, by hand, and was well loved and taken care of.

Regarding the Ambrotypes themselves...
Boy, is it difficult to get a good photo of something very reflective!
Just in case you cannot see it on our pictures, the woman's cheeks are colored pink. On her picture, too, there's some sort of ...something... on or in it. they're clearly visible and I'm certain my pictures shows this. I'm also certain an expert will know what it is. It looks like some sort of organic fractal pattern.
If there's a flaw, or flaws, either in the case or the image, we're doing our best to explain it and show it. While a flaw (or flaws) may not be mentioned in the text description, it (they) will surely be visible in the photos. Make sure to see all the photos that ebay shows at the top of the auction.
Please do not hesitate to ask questions or to request better pics of something in particular.
