Vintage Carved Onyx Stone & Turquoise Bust of King Pakal
This is a beautiful, carved stone bust of the Mayan King Pakal. The piece is composed of black onyx stone and inlaid with turquoise. The metal earrings are marked "925" for sterling silver. This little sculpture measures approximately 6" high, 2" wide and 2 1/2" deep. There are no chips or cracks. There is what looks like some glue or glaze that spills over the edges of the turquoise on one side of his headdress... we are not certain if this was a repair, or if it was something that occurred during the making of this piece.
