Antique Tin Epaulet Box Black Tin w/ Red Velvet Liner 1860's Civil War Military

Antique Black Enameled Tin Epaulet Box with Red Velvet Liner ~ w/ Air Tight Storage Compartment ~ 1860's ~
Signs of scratches, black paint loss and there is a dent on the one front corner (photo 12 ~ around the size of a thumb). I see no major damage to the red velvet lining except some staining and some aged dust/dirt in corners. The tin box looks to be silver in color under the black enamel. I also see a copper tone around the top edge of the box as well as the smaller oval lid that goes on the inside. (see photo 10). There is a little thin metal handle on the top, 2 hinges on the inside back top of this and a latch closure on the front.
The lid on the inside is marked 1860 (photo 9).
Measures 6 1/4" tall x 9 1/4" long x 6 1/4" wide. Weighs 2 pounds 6 ounces (prior to packaging)
