This is a one sided, painted wooden sign from upstate New York. The sign is telling you that 100 feet ahead there is a wayside service station. How fast or how slow do you think you have to be going so that a warning that 100 feet ahead would be effective? We think this is from the very beginning of the automobile era or earlier. The patina is fantastic and has a look that you would expect from something as old as this sign.
The sign measures 94 1/2" long x 10 3/8" wide and 7/8" thick.
