    Description

James Vick catalogs are certainly scarce. Especially issues between 1892 to 1902, after his death
in 1891. This is a large 10 by 8 inch folio, loaded with all color flowers in the first 26 pages. The
illustrations are carried through with non colorized plant material and farm implements. This is not
only a seed and plant materials garden book, but a horticultural guide for the beginning novice or
a seasoned Landscape architect. The guide extends widely into pruning and pest maintenance to
watermelons. All packed into this 112 page reference book. I assure you, most of the horticultural
practices and methods of maintaining a garden apply to any project today. There is wear to the
exterior of the spine which is at least 85% tight. Small tears and nicks to cover edges. The interior
pages are excellent with a couple small imperfections.
James Vick was quite the businessman and
journalist during his days;  producing invaluable
floral and plant guides as far back as the late 1820s.
    Thank you for visiting, Karl
