    On July 1 1971 the USPS replaced the post office..
    To commemorate the event, the USPS offered a special envelope to nearly 40,000 post offices around the country.
    This created an exciting new area of collecting with nearly 40,000
    post offices possible.
    Roy E Mooney and others spent countless hours researching and cataloging the known covers,
    and published the REM catalog which listed estimated covers available to be cancelled and rarity.
    Rarity values run from 1 (7500+ possible covers) to 200 (0 to 10 possible covers)
    Less than half of the possible cancels have been recorded and there may be many more!
    We recently acquired several hundred covers and are using the online REM catalog in our listings.
    I believe it to be the most current edition of the catalog
